Accessing global videos
As explained on Uploading and editing videos, videos are always associated with a specific space. They can be released for global access, though, what effectively means sharing the video with all users of the platform.
If you set the visibility of a video to “global” while uploading or editing it, the video will be listed under the Videos menu item on the Confluence header bar - for all users. For you, the Videos menu item lists all global videos and all videos from spaces to which you have access. In summary, you will find all videos you are able to access throughout the instance under Videos.
The Videos menu item gathers all videos throughout the instances, making it the central hub for all video content.
Similar to the space video overview, multiple filters are at your disposal to identify the videos relevant for you:
Use the search field on top of the overview page or apply additional filters to the video attributes language, category, target group or labels via “More filters”.
Select the navigation tabs on the top to narrow down your video selection to
(All videos)
Popular videos: videos with the views.
My favorite videos: videos favorited by you.
My posted videos: videos uploaded by you.
My recently watched videos: the last videos you have watched.
Your personal view in Videos always includes ALL videos which are visible to you personally. Please note the icons below the video title: the globe indicates a global video (accessible to everyone), the lock indicates a non-global video (accessible for you and potentially other users based on space permissions).
Switch from the overview with the video list to the detail view of a video by simply clicking on it. The options are identical to the space context:
with the mere additional option to quickly jump to the “home space” of the video via the button Open Video in Space.
