Upload videos

Prerequisite: To be able to upload a video to a space, you need to have edit permissions for pages within this space.

Navigation: Go to any page in your space and select the video menu item on the space sidebar.

To upload a video hit the button Upload new video. A pop-up will open with the following options:

• Space: select the space to which the video should be uploaded.

• Title: enter a meaningful title for your video.

• Description: describe what your video is about.

• Language: select the language(s) of your video.

• Category: choose one or multiple fitting categories (as defined by system administrators).

• Target Group: choose one or multiple target groups which your video addresses (as defined by system administrators).

• Labels: choose one or multiple fitting labels or enter a new one.

• Visibility: decide whether your video should be visible only within the selected space or globally for all users (independent of the permissions of the space to which the video is uploaded).

• Video File: last but not least indicate the video file which is to be uploaded.

When the upload has been started, you will see a progress bar. Once the upload has finished, Videos for Confluence will process your video in order to generate its thumbnail and preview. You will be redirected to the detail page as soon as everything is completed.

Browse videos

All space videos are accessible via the video menu item on the space sidebar. This includes all videos which have been uploaded to this particular space. Simply click on the preview of any video to switch to its detail view.

You may want to narrow down the videos relevant for you by using the search field on top of the overview page or by applying additional filters to the attributes language, category, target group or labels via “More filters”.

Watch, like and favorite videos

On the detail view of a video you have multiple options:

• Watch the video by simply clicking the play button. As usual, the player will let you pause / continue watching, adjust the volume, jump to a particular sequence, open picture-in-picture or switch to full screen mode.

• Add the video to your favorites by using the Favorite button.

• Like a video by clicking the Like button.

Edit videos

The attributes title, description, language, category, target group, labels and visibility can be edited from the detail view of the video. Hit Edit to change the information.

Delete videos

To delete a video, switch to the detail view of the video. Select the “…” menu and choose “Delete”. You will be asked for re-confirmation as deleting a video cannot be undone.
