Setting up the configuration
To use AI for Confluence, you will need to set up an OpenAI account and create an API key. ChatGPT is the AI integration currently used by AI for Confluence. Please note that while there is a free tier available, additional costs may apply afterwards.

Before you begin, please follow these steps to create an OpenAI account
Go to the OpenAI website.
Click on the "Sign up" button in the top right corner of the page.
Enter your email address, username, and password in the provided fields.
Read and accept the OpenAI terms of service and privacy policy.
Click on the "Create Account" button to create your account.
After you have created your OpenAI account, you can proceed to create an API key by following these steps
Log in to your OpenAI account and head over to the API key page.
Click on the "Create new secret key" button.
Enter a name for your API key.
Click on the "Create secret key" button to create your API key.
Once you have created your OpenAI API key, you can proceed to configure the AI for Confluence plugin by following these steps
Log in to your Confluence instance with global system administrator permission.
Click on the cog icon on the top right of the header bar to switch to the Confluence global administration.
Go to the menu item Configuration in the section AI for Confluence on the Confluence administration interface.
Add the API key by entering it in the provided form.
Save the API key.
After saving the API key, you should see an "Ask AI" button appear in the Confluence editor toolbar, indicating that the plugin has been successfully configured. If you need further assistance or have any questions, please refer to our user guide or contact us through our Service Desk.
